Product Description:

Cold spray zinc is a single-component high-solid anti-corrosion coating composed of special flux, zinc powder, additives and solvents. A zinc protective layer with a zinc content of over 96 can be spray-plated under normal temperature conditions. It has excellent anti-rust properties, excellent weather resistance, strong adhesion, good recoating performance, convenient construction, safety and environmental protection.

designed usage:

It is used for long-term anti-corrosion of steel. It can be used as a single layer, or the surface can be coated with matching heavy-duty anti-corrosion coatings to exert a synergistic effect and meet various protection requirements. It is the best material to replace or repair hot-sprayed zinc and hot-dip galvanized layers.

 Construction Notes

1. Surface treatment requirements for steel structures

1.1. Cleanliness: Sandblast or shot blast to Sa2. 5 according to ISO85011 standard or GB892388 national standard, and spray paint within 2 hours;

1.2. Roughness: Rz about 50-70μm;

1.3. The on-site welding parts shall be manually polished and rust-removed to St 3 or St 2 level.

2. Precautions for cold spray zinc coating construction:

2.1. Stir thoroughly: Use an electric mixer to stir for more than 3 minutes for the first time, then make a special accessory (as shown below), stir the zinc powder precipitated at the bottom of the barrel twice, and finally stir again with electric power to ensure that there is no sinking to the bottom of the barrel. . Brush (roller) coating and stir every 30 to 60 minutes; when spraying with air, shake and stir while spraying.

2.2. Thinner and tool cleaning agent: Use matching thinner as required

2.3. Coating method: brush (roller) coating, air (airless) spraying, dip coating

2.4. It is recommended to pre-coat the welded parts of the steel structure with a layer of cold spray zinc of about 40 μm.

3. Cold spray zinc coating construction environment and conditions:

3.1. Construction environment temperature: 5℃~+50℃

3.2. Relative humidity of construction environment: painting can be done when the relative humidity is less than 85%

3.3. Steel surface temperature: The surface temperature is lower than 60℃, 3℃ higher than the dew point, and there is no water or ice on the surface.

3.4. Interval time between recoating: 24 hours

3.5. The longest coating interval for cold spray zinc: unlimited

3.6. Coat other matching coatings on the cold spray zinc layer for 24 to 48 hours (depending on the dryness of the cold spray zinc surface)

3.7. Spraying equipment: It must be cleaned with special diluent for cold spray zinc before and after each construction.

4. Cold spray zinc is used in conjunction with :

4.1. Hot-dip galvanizing effect matching: cold spray zinc + silver sealer

4.2. Cold spray zinc composite coating: cold spray zinc + epoxy mica + polyurethane topcoat

5. Quality inspection of cold spray zinc coating:

5.1. Check whether the cold spray zinc coating is fully stirred during construction and whether a special diluent for cold spray zinc is used.

5.2. Coating appearance quality: The surface of the steel structure should not be mis-coated or missed; the coating should not peel or rust. The coating is uniform and all results are visually inspected.

5.3. Coating adhesion inspection: The adhesion inspection method is measured by the cross-hatch method in accordance with the national GB9286 standard, and the adhesion is ≤ level 1.

5.4. Coating dry film thickness inspection: Use a dry film magnetic thickness gauge to detect the total dry film thickness of the cold spray zinc coating. The required dry film thickness of the coating after coating is: 85% or more. Point ≥ design thickness value, dry film thickness of other detection points ≥ 85%
