Information details

1. Product introduction

GRT-1090 is an aromatic polyurea elastomer coating with 100% solid content. Component A is an isocyanate component and component B is a polyether component. This product is designed to be used in waterproof, wear-resistant and anti-slip situations such as bridge decks, and complies with the GBT23446-2009 national standard Type II index. GRT-1090 is suitable for application with heated two-component equipment to achieve rapid film formation without the need for any solvent. GRT-1090 gels quickly without worrying about bubbling or porous coatings. GRT-1090 is intended for direct use in outdoor exposure.

2. Basic uses

GRT-1090 is designed for waterproofing of horizontal or vertical substrates of various buildings, including roof waterproofing, underground waterproofing, etc. It is widely used on primed steel, concrete, wood, fiberglass, geotextile and foam substrates. GRT-1090 can obtain a rough surface through construction to achieve anti-slip effect. In areas where color stability is a primary requirement, a UV-resistant aliphatic topcoat must be used.

3. Physical properties

Mass solid content: 100%; 2. Volume solid content: 100%; 3. Weight per barrel: Component A = 220 kg Component B = 210kg; 4. Gel time: 30 at 24°C and 50% relative humidity seconds; 5. Surface drying time: less than 1 minute at 24°C, 50% relative humidity; 6. Solid drying time: 90% cured in 24 hours; 7. Tensile strength: 24°C, 18 MPa; 8. Elongation at break: 24℃, 510%; 9. Tear strength: 61 KN/m; 10. Rubber hardness: Shore A90; 11. Bonding performance: Primed concrete. Concrete damage to primed steel: 10.2 MPa adhesive destruction [ASTM D4541]; 12. Water absorption: water absorption <2% after soaking for 7 days; 13. Water vapor permeability: 3.1Perms, film thickness 1mm [ASTM D1653]; 14. High temperature stability: no aging Harden or runny; 15. Low temperature flexibility: -20℃ 180° bending through 1/4 inch shaft; 16. Volatility: Organic content (VOC) 0g/L.

4. Surface treatment

GRT-1090 must be used on pre-treated and primed substrates.

GRT-1090 is constructed using two-component polyurea spray equipment with a ratio of 1:1, and there are many suitable models and manufacturers. Please refer to the document entitled Two-Component Spray Equipment for design and operating recommendations.

5.Construction

Do not perform construction when the ambient temperature is lower than 4°C, or exceeds 38°C, or when it will rain within half an hour of the construction time, or when the relative humidity exceeds 90%.

The usage rate and dry film thickness can be determined based on specific project requirements. The versatility of GRT-1090 allows engineers to use different dry film thicknesses and one layer of coating to solve multiple protection problems on various substrates. For detailed engineering advice, please contact the company’s Technical Services Department. Coating rate: In theory, 1 kg of GRT-1090 can apply 1 mm to 1 square meter of substrate, but actual loss must be taken into account, and the general loss rate is 20%.

For typical construction environments, the following dry film thicknesses are for reference only:

Minor wear—dry or soaked

800-1000 micron

Moderate wear – dry or soaked

1000-1500 micron

Severe wear and tear – dry or soaked

1500-3000+ microns

GRT-1090 can form a film to the designed thickness in one go. Most dry film thickness requirements can be met in one or two applications. Super thick and dry

The film thickness needs to be completed in the third or more applications. The number of coats required to meet the specified dry film thickness will vary depending on the application method, construction site and surrounding environment. Each layer of paint must be tack-dry before the next coat of GRT-1090 can be applied. All expansion joints, reserved joints for pouring, etc. need to be sealed with matching sealant. All yin and yang corners and visible seams on the base surface need to be waterproofed separately before spraying. All surfaces should be sprayed evenly and free of leaks, pinholes and bulges. When spraying polyurea on rough or other surfaces with holes, the holes must be repaired and smoothed in advance using the company’s primer or equivalent product. During the construction process of GRT-1090, regular inspections should be made to ensure that all surfaces are sprayed evenly and that there are no missed sprays, holes, blisters and areas of insufficient thickness. Any areas that do not meet the requirements should be resprayed within 48 hours of initial application. The GRT-1090 is available in standard beige color. Customers can also choose colors according to project needs. Small-scale repairs require a hand-applied material. GRT-1308 can be used. In order to obtain better mechanical adhesion, the repaired surface needs to be roughened by mechanical grinding. You can use a wire wheel, wire brush, coarse sandpaper or Similar methods. Scrub the roughened surface with a solvent such as MEK to remove dust and other contaminants and soften the existing coating surface. Then mix the two components of GRT-1308 thoroughly and apply to the repaired area. Apply the repair material in multiple passes until the thickness is equal to or greater than the thickness of the existing coating, tapering the edges of the repair material away from the edge of the existing coating.

6. Precautions

The components of GRT-1090 must be adequately sealed to prevent moisture from entering before chemical action can occur. After the raw material barrel is opened, if the remaining components are not to be used further, the barrel should be filled with nitrogen or dry air and sealed to protect the components from moisture contamination. Although GRT-1090 is not affected by the presence of slight moisture, it is recommended that the surface is dry to achieve good results. Use only in a well-ventilated area. Avoid breathing vapors or spray mist. For outdoor construction, operators and accessory personnel are required to wear MSHA/NIOSH approved activated carbon respirators. For indoor construction, air masks or positive pressure masks must be worn. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
